Taking part in volunteer events and supporting local charities is important to the wellbeing of our associates and the communities to which we serve. Our associates have volunteered at food banks, cleaned up beaches, tutored low income students, sponsored local firefighters galas, and took part in the San Diego LGBT Pride Festival. Decorus has a goal of volunteering 300 hours of service in 2010. To accommodate for that, our associates have the option of taking two paid workdays to volunteer at local charities.

Decorus has also developed partnerships with local council groups to decrease unemployment and diversity small businesses in the community.  Our Stay in School Program is designed to encourage high school students to stay in school and prepare them to enter the job market.

Community Partnerships

Decorus is proud to have teamed with local neighborhood council groups on a project that connects local businesses with low income residents looking for work. These councils have meal programs for lower income families and help the community with job placement, healthcare, and other issues. Recently, these councils have wanted to focus on employment within the community. Decorus has played an integral role in helping make this vision a reality.

Decorus helps residents prepare resumes, develop interview skills, and promote the best of what they have to offer. Additionally, Decorus brings added value by offering pre-employment training, lower rates to local businesses, and our commitment to Company, Career, and Community.

Valuing Diversity

Decorus serves as a role model in the community through its affiliation and certification as a minority-owned business and its participation in the Greater San Diego Business Association, a local LGBT business organization.
